Sierra FFA participated at the annual Parli-Pro competition at O’neals Minarets High School on Saturday January 31 with a novice and an advanced team. Novice received 1st in the competition and advanced received 4th. The novice team consisted of Kat Marsh, Macy Myers, Mason Tarr, Taylor Collins, Cody Hall, Kennedy Newton, Daygan Cross, Shane Wyman, Kelsey Mehling, and Michael Purky and was coached by Robert Actis. The advanced consisted of Allisa Hastie, Jordan Gillihan, Sydney Zumwalt, Derek Maxwell, Carson LeBoeuf, Cooper Ford, Austin Holt, Madison Hill, Meagan Plummer, and Josh Markos and was coached by Rich Vandenack.

Sierra FFA’s natural resources team received 2nd place at the annual State Finals at Reedley College. The 4 member team consisted of Bowen Kehn, Frank Sanchez, Carson LeBoeuf, and Alissa Hastie. In individual awards Bowen Kehn received 3rd in knowledge, 5th in animal ID and was 4th high individual; Frank Sanchez received 1st in plant ID, 2nd in animal ID and was the 2nd high individual; Alissa Hastie received 4th in knowledge and 3rd in skills; Carson LeBoeuf participated in the event. The team finished this season with 2nd at Mariposa, 2nd at Clovis, 1st at O’Neals Minarets, and 1st at Nevada Union.
Sierra FFA had 1 team of 4 students participate in their 1st annual Natural Resources competition at Nevada Union. Bowen Kehn received 2nd in knowledge, 2nd in Animal ID, and 1st high individual; Carson LeBoeuf received 1st in knowledge, 1st in animal ID, and 3rd high individual; Alissa Hastie received 3rd in knowledge; Jordan Gillihan participated in the event, she was a real cowgirl. Overall the team received 1st in mule packing, 1st in oral presentation and was the 1st high team. Sierra FFA wishes the team luck as they enter state finals on Saturday, January 24 at Reedley College.

The Sierra “A” team received 1st in packing, 1st in oral presentation and 1st overall team. Bowen Kehn received 2nd in plant ID; Frankie Sanchez received 1st in plant ID, 2nd in animal ID, and was 1st high individual; Allisa Hastie received 1st in skills, and Carson LeBouef received 2nd in knowledge test and 3rd in animal ID. Sierra FFA’s “B” team received 3rd in the oral presentation and consisted of Shane Wyman received 3rd in knowledge test, 3rd in skills and Macy Myers and Jesse Tyler participated.
