Sierra FFA had 45 exhibitors this year across all different species of animals, including Beef, Sheep, Swine, and Goats. Sierra FFA had a very successful fair taking home Supreme Grand champion Market steer exhibited by Hailee Ashbrook, Reserve Champion Duroc exhibited by Justin Dement, Reserve Crossbred Swine and Reserve FFA Champion exhibited by Austin Dudley-Nelson, Champion Suffolk Sheep exhibited by David Harrison, Champion Dorset exhibited by Kelsey Mehling, Reserve Champion Hampshire exhibited by Michael Purky, and Reserve Supreme Champion ewe exhibited by Shane Wyman. Aside from just amazing animals Sierra FFA members also stole the showmanship division with Josie Woodcock winning Master Beef Showmanship and 3rd in round robin, Madison Hill wining Freshman and Sophomore beef showmanship and placing 6th in round robin, Hailee Ashbrook placing Second in Master showmanship, Austin Dudley-Nelson with Reserve FFA champion Swine Showmanship, and Taylor Collins received the overall top exhibitor.
Sheep Sierra FFA sheep did an excellent job at this year’s fair and had 9 exhibitors. Kendall Cardoza received 2nd in class, David Harrison received Champion Suffolk and 9th in advanced Sheep showmanship, Cody Hefley received 2nd in his class, Kelsey Mehling received Champion Dorset, Macy Myers received 11th in Novice showmanship, Meagan Plumer received 5th in her class, Jaycie Rose received 6th in her class, Hayley Weathers received 7th in her class and Shane Wyman received 1st and 3rd in his class, placed 2nd in intermediate Sheep showmanship and received Reserve Supreme Champion ewe. Great job Sheep team! Beef Sierra FFA exhibited 9 market beef cattle, 4 Feeder Steers, 1 Breeding Heifer, and one Market Heifer. Liz Adams participated in Novice showmanship and received 1st in her feeder class. Hailee Ashbrook received Supreme Champion Market Steer and placed 2nd in FFA Master Showmanship. Daygan Cross received 4th in his market class and 2nd in Intermediate showmanship. Hunter Eldridge received 3rd in her market class and participated in FFA master showmanship. Cooper Ford received 6th in his market class and 7th in Intermediate Showmanship. Colton Fleming received 1st in his market class and participated in FFA master showmanship. Clay Ford received 5th in his market class and participated in master showmanship. Makena Galimba participated in Master showmanship and received 1st in her Feeder class. Maddison Hill received 3rd in her market class, 1st Intermediate showmanship and placed 6th in round robin. Austin Holt received 4th in his market class and participated in Master showmanship. Patrick Sisk placed 2nd in his feeder class and participated in Novice showmanship. Clay Telles participated in his feeder class and participated in intermediate showmanship. Jesse Tyler received 3rd in his market class and participated in showmanship. Josie Woodcock received 1st in her market class, received weight champion, and placed 1st in FFA Master Showmanship. Sydney Zumwalt placed 1st in her class and 3rd in the registered heifer division and participated in FFA novice showmanship. Swine Sierra FFA swine had 21 animals this year at the fair and did an excellent job! Jordan Coburn received 7th in his market class and participated in showmanship. Kelby Cross placed 7th in his Hampshire market class, 5th in his York market class, participated in showmanship class and placed 8th in pen of two. Emma Day placed 3rd in her market class and participated in showmanship. Justin Dement received Reserve Champion Duroc in his market class and placed 1st in the final round of showmanship. Austin Dudley-Nelson received Reserve FFA Champion in market and placed 6th in the finals of Novice showmanship. Morgan Furrer participated in her market class and participated in showmanship. Cody Heirendt placed 3rd in her feeder class and participated in showmanship. Sierra Hollander received 2nd in her market class and participated in intermediate showmanship. Josh Markos received 7th in his market class and participated in showmanship. Derek Maxwell received 2nd in his market class and participated in intermediate showmanship. Michael Purky had Reserve Champion Hampshire and participated in showmanship. Keenan Quintana received 2nd in class and participated in showmanship. Julie Rouse participated in her market class and participated in showmanship. Frankie Sanchez received 2nd in his market class and participated in Novice showmanship. Julliana Sullivan received 4th in her market class and participated in showmanship. Mason Tarr received 3rd with his Hampshire, placed 1st in class with his Yorkshire, and placed 1st in intermediate showmanship. Logan Vandenack received 3rd in the Finals of Swine showmanship and place 2nd in his market class. Morgan Vandenack received 1st in her market class and 7th in overall swine showmanship.
