Sierra FFA’s very own Colby Perry will be advancing to State Finals for his Equine Science Entrepreneurship Proficiency. He has qualified to be top three in the state and will be interviewed to determine the state winner that will compete at the national level. Colby’s Supervised Agricultural Experience has included many cutting horse competitions and his breeding project. He has excelled in these areas and is going to be representing Sierra FFA very well in Anaheim this April. We are glad all your hard work is paying off!

Colby Perry, a student in the Sierra High School agriculture education program, after placing 2nd at sectionals, competed at the San Joaquin regional level for public speaking. He has excelled in the Extemporaneous competition. He was tasked with 30 minutes to prepare a four to six minute speech about the topic given with judges questions after. His topics included the task of engaging consumers in agriculture and how trade agreements affect agriculture. Overall he placed 4th. This April he will be representing Sierra FFA and our community at the state level for this contest. We are glad your hard work is paying off. Congratulations to all those who competed. Thank you to College of the Sequoias for hosting and his advisor Rich Vandenack for coaching.
