This year the 2022 annual Sierra FFA two day woodcut was a great success! Fifty Three FFA members attended, as well as multiple parents and Alumni. Though our goal was 20 cords, we ended our woodcut with 35 cords of wood. Unfortunately, because of the rain we were not able to camp in Shaver like we normally do. However, the FFA members found a way to have just as much fun! The students and ag advisors camped out on the football field at the high school. Students and staff bonded over swimming, delicious burgers, and s’mores. A big thanks to Tim Messer for donating the wood, and all the parents and advisors that helped in cutting, stacking, and delivering. - Aurora Parker, Sierra FFA Reporter

This year, Sierra FFA had the amazing opportunity to host the 2022 annual (chapter officer leadership conference) or COLC. Thanks to our chapter and Sectional President Macy Lloyd, we were able to make this happen. 14 schools attended this conference including Sierra, Liberty, Clovis, Fowler, Parlier, Yosemite, San Joaquin Memorial, Kingsburg, Minarets, Reedley, Reedley Middle College, Immanuel, Sanger, and Selma High School. We also received a wonderful visit by the State FFA Reporter, Melanie Orozco and the State FFA Vice President, Landon Hendricks. During this conference many students had a chance to learn different leadership skills and participate in workshop activities that brightened the officers' understanding of being a leader in the FFA.
