Four lucky Sierra FFA members had the opportunity to travel to Indianapolis and compete at a national level for FFA National Convention from October 22st through the 27th. After winning the state title in January in the contest Natural Resources, there was no break, they had to continue studying for the upcoming competition. The team included Emma Actis, Jayden Baker, Seth Chrisman and Jesse Tyler. They were tested on animal, plant and equipment identification, an oral presentation about the Paris Climate Agreement, water testing, soil and land judging, GPS and waste management. The team received 12th in the nation as well as Jesse Tyler earned a bronze individual award, Emma Actis and Jayden Baker both earned a silver individual award and Seth Chrisman earned a gold individual award. Away from the contest, they got to experience other adventures. They also went to the Louisville Slugger Factory and went to Churchill Downs. Congratulations to all that competed and thank you to the Sierra Ag Boosters Program and the Sierra Unified School District for your support as well as the team for representing Sierra FFA so well.
